Devious Journal Entry

Tue Jun 2, 2009, 8:10 PM
So I went Halloween costume hunting (In June! Perfect timing.), saw the occasional uber-rad costume interspersed among lots of badly constructed TV/movie/comic-based costumes, and now I'm a-thinkin' it's about time to draw some fanart. Maybe it'll give me some ideas for my costume this year, considering I now have a sewing machine and I can make whatever I want within reason/skill level. (That is, if I don't go with this, which is surprisingly awesome, if in need of a little tweaking, for a fandomy assembly-line costume. \o/)

Plus, Jim Lee Rogue's been featured for a while, so I think it's time for a wardrobe change. ¬_¬

Bonus Funtime Question: Do you pronounce it "HAL-o-ween" or "HOL-o-ween"? (Hint: There's only one right answer.)

And you would be correct. ;)

I'm kinda leaning towards a comic costume, myself--either the Harley I linked or some variation of Rogue. My friend went as her last year and I might borrow her costume (It was somebody's custom Comicon costume, so it a pretty sweet outfit.), but since I'm a little taller than she is it does this weird shapeless potato sack thing on me, so maybe not. :P

That Queen of Hearts suuuure is awesome though...

I would love to do a comic book inspired costume but I've become too much of a chunky monkey to go traipsing about in spandex anymore. My last "superhero" costume was a GenX Jubilee and no one really knows that suit/character half the time.

Good luck with whatever costume you go for!

I pronounce it HAL-oween. And those DC costumes don't look too bad, as you said, for assembly line productions. I'm planning a gothic Victorian ensemble to wear on Halloween to a cemetary ghost tour, but we'll see if I have the time.

I think I just replied to my own post just now, not your comment. *facepalm* Whoops, lol.
